Frequently Asked Questions

You altered my friend’s gown, and she recommended you; how do I book an appointment with you?

I truly appreciate the trust my wonderful past clients place in me by sending referrals! Once you fill out your inquiry form and share your photos, I’ll promptly provide a link to schedule an appointment based on your wedding date and alteration needs. I’m thrilled to help you navigate your journey towards that perfect fit, and I look forward to supporting you at every step!

What should I bring with me to my fitting appointment?

To ensure the best fit for your stunning gown, please bring your shoes and any undergarments you plan to wear on your special day, including shapewear, bras, hosiery, and tape. Having these items with you is key to a perfect alteration process. If you don’t have them during your appointment, we’ll need to reschedule; kindly consult the pricing list for details on any rescheduling fees.

Where are you located?

My home studio is nestled in the vibrant heart of beautiful Salt Lake City! Once you sign the contract and pay the fitting fee, I’ll send you a heartfelt welcome email with all the studio details. I aim to create a truly personalized experience and look forward to perfecting your dream gown!

Can my children/maid of honor/mother come with me?

At Bespoke Bridal Alterations, I want to ensure your fitting experience is as enjoyable and personal as possible. To maintain a personalized and relaxing atmosphere, I kindly ask that children and pets stay home during your fittings. However, I welcome you to bring one adult guest for your fittings. This is an excellent opportunity for them to accompany you during the alterations process. At the final fitting, they will learn how to bustle your gown, ensuring you look stunning on your wedding day. Ideally, choose a family member, close friend, or trusted bridal party member, whoever can best support you on this special occasion. I appreciate your understanding!

I see that you require payment in full upfront. Are there exceptions to this?

While there are no exceptions, this policy ensures a seamless timeline for your gown’s completion. After our in-person consultation and initial fitting, payment is required in full before alterations begin. Rest assured, the lines of communication are open at every step. You will have the final say on any suggested modifications before we proceed, ensuring your vision is always front and center.

For your convenience, I accept various payment methods, including credit cards, Venmo, PayPal, and cash. Please note that payments made via apps and cards incur a 2.5% processing fee; both state and federal taxes are applied at a rate of 7.5%.

My wedding is in two weeks, can you help me?!

I'm thrilled by the incredible demand for my services! This means my schedule can fill up quickly—up to a year or more in advance! Because of this, my availability for rush alterations is quite limited and may come with additional fees depending on urgency and complexity. To ensure your wedding preparations go smoothly, I strongly encourage you to book your appointment as soon as you finalize your wedding date and, ideally, no later than right after you purchase your dress. While it’s never too early to start the process, I want to ensure you don’t miss the chance to book me! If unavailable, I am happy to recommend some wonderful colleagues in the local bridal community who can assist you.

Do you also do alterations for MOBs/Bridesmaids/Grooms?

As a bridal alterations seamstress, my sole focus is on the artistry of wedding gowns. This commitment allows me to provide unparalleled attention to detail and craftsmanship for each bride, ensuring her vision is brought to life with elegance and sophistication. For those seeking alterations beyond bridal wear, I am pleased to offer a curated list of nearby preferred providers specializing in various alteration needs. Please request this information to find the exemplary service for your specific requirements.

Is cleaning included? Do you offer gown preservation?

Cleaning a wedding gown is a specialized service that requires a careful approach due to the meticulous nature of the process. Each fabric requires mindful attention. For many gowns, I can utilize specially made fabric cleaners, such as Retro Clean, which are gentle solutions designed to effectively remove yellow and brown age stains from washable materials. It is essential to note that I do not provide dry cleaning services; therefore, gowns with extensive or set-in staining cannot be accommodated.

Gown preservation is not offered at my studio now; it will be available in 2026. However, I am pleased to recommend a trusted local colleague who can assist with this vital service. Your gown deserves the utmost care and expertise, and I am here to ensure it receives just that.
